FAQ

Can I keep my OEM tow hooks?
No, our bumpers come with standard shackle mounts in front and rear models to take the place of the factory tow hooks.
How much weight will my Road Armor bumper tow?
Our rear bumpers fit right above your factory hitch, therefore no modifications are necessary to your vehicle.
How much do the bumpers weigh?
It depends on a combination of factors to determine the weight of your bumper. A base bumper weighs 145lbs. If you add a Sport Guard option it will add 65lbs to the total weight. Keep in mind though that if you intend to install a winch in your bumper that you need to add the weight of the winch as well.
Will I lose my spare tire spot with a rear winch bumper?
It depends. Please call to find out if your vehicle and the options you want will permit retaining your spare tire.
Do you offer bumpers in Chrome?
No, we do not chrome plate bumpers. We also will recommend against it. If you have a chrome plated surface, and once you get a rock chip or scratch in it. The chrome will begin to flake off leaving you with a nasty eyesore of a bumper.
What are the bumpers made out of?
The highest grade A36 descaled premium steel means no mill scale for years of reistance against corrosion and the ultimate bond between the parent metal and finish coating.
Do you powder-coat or paint?
Our standard process is powder in a satin black finish, which is included in normal retail pricing of each unit. We have worked with DuPont to formulate our own custom highly scratch resistant powder coating. If you desire to have a custom color we may ship your product RAW (bare metal) and you may finish it locally.
What about installation? Will I have to modify my truck in any way?
Our standard rear bumpers are rated at Class IV capacity additional capacity can be ordered.
What about shipping?
We use LTL trucks, most commonly USF Bestway. Shipping and crating usually runs about $250-$550 dollars. Another important part of shipping, is to protect your interest when your bumper arrives. Make sure, before you sign the bill of lading that you received it in good shape, that the crate/skid truly is in good shape. If the crate/skid is damaged, note that on the bill of lading and ask the driver how to file a freight claim damage report. You will probably be given a phone number to call and request the appropriate forms. Have the driver circle the "pro number" (their company tracking number) for you on your copy of the bill of lading. You will need to refer/provide this number to the trucking company so they know who you are. Again, if you have any problems, give us a call and we'll walk you through the claim forms process. Take photos of all damage before you open the crate/skid.
Do you have dealers or do you sell direct?
Both. Give us a call at 877-294-2726. We will quote you right off of the website, and let you know if any discounts are available. Unfortunately we cannot control the pricing other shops sell our bumpers for, or what options they provide. We would like to know if you feel one of our dealers are pricing in an inappropriate manner so that we can investigate it.
